WHEN

Friday, June 2, 2017
12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

LOCATION

Located at Broad Art Center at the UCLA Game Lab room 3252

Massively multiplayer, with a minimum of fuss! In this workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of developing online multiplayer games, and build a simple but full-featured networked game.  Topics of discussion will include high-level architecture, terminology,  design considerations, best practices, interesting example projects, programming techniques, and an overview of industry-standard networking libraries for Unity.  The workshop will be hands on, and lessons will be illustrated through the activity of each participant building their own online game.

The workshop will be led by Alex Rickett.  Alex has been game lab resident since 2010 and worked on networked projects including Darkgame, Ready2Ware, and the soon to be released Gecko Ridemption.
