We will host a three-part music workshop led by Jenna Caravello, Michael Luo, and Hua Chai. This workshop will introduce participants to some methods and processes for producing music and sounds that can eventually be used in creative projects.
Our schedule is as follows:
1 p.m. – 2 p.m. : Make a sound. We will provide some instruments and tools that participants can experiment with to make interesting sounds. Bring a smartphone or laptop to record and use your recording in the next part of the workshop.
2 p.m. – 3 p.m. : Sampling & Stitchwerk. We will use the sounds we just made, plus sounds from the endless dungeon that is the internet to sample and stitch sounds together into a loop using just Adobe Premiere to create a background music.
3 p.m. – 4 p.m. : Tiny Tools for Chiptunes. Learn how to make 8-bit music on Lovely Composer and PICO-8!
No prior music experience is required for this workshop!
