Adam Koebel is a Vancouver based award winning game designer and professional game master. He is the game designer of the Tabletop Roleplaying Game “Dungeon World”, and Game Master in Residence at Roll20.net, a platform for live telepresent tabletop roleplaying. A large part of his practice involves live streamed game sessions. His narrative and story-based approach to game design is representative of the new wave of inclusive RPG design. These RPGs are driven by social dynamics and improvisation rather than numbers and math.

Sitting at the intersection of improvised theatre, observed gameplay and cam work, streaming tabletop roleplaying games is a discipline that engages multiple independent systems to produce something none of them are intended to produce. Adam Koebel will be discussing the experiences and oddities of making content in this niche within a niche – his talk will center on the process of producing, running and designing on the fly to bring tabletop roleplaying to life in a live streaming environment.
