A custom game controller for Mark Essen’s IGF award winning fighting game NIDHOGG.

The surface is made from solid cast cement reinforced with steel rod and wire as well as wood glued against it after casting, finished with a beeswax and olive oil mix. A sealed MDF frame was used as a casting box and OOMOO was used as negatives for the buttons and joystick offsets. Wooden frame made from stained poplar and finished with polyacrylic attached to cement using liquid nails for simplicity and reinforcement. A TeensyDuino was used as a keyboard controller.

The SLAB weighs about 20 pounds.
