Bitmap Font Builder (PC)

Create complex bitmap fonts for your game with this easy-to-use tool.

Sometimes you don’t want to screw with including fonts, or you want to customize really tiny pixel fonts. Maybe your fonts are getting too anti-aliased. I use Bitmap Font Builder to turn fonts into bitmap font sheets, then import those into Game Maker’s sprite editor, separate them into frames, edit them, and tie them into the game system as sprite fonts using font_add_sprite(spr,first,prop,sep). It’s simple, and you can even get individually colored letters, or give a gradient to each letter.

Tip: Reuse the font sprite for letter monsters!
